Facebook for business has me scratching my head!

The next logical step for me in my social media investigation was to see how I can use Facebook for business. Now Facebook and business has never been in the same sentence I ever uttered before. For me Facebook is personal and a way I keep in contact my family and friends. My privacy settings are the highest I can set them. The thought of opening my family and personal life to the world causes me to tremble (perhaps I’m an over protective mother). This is where I started scratching my head and thinking how do the two go together. This is what I found out: Read more »

My first Social Media pit stop was @twitter

As I approach my journey to demystify social media and how it can be used in business I look at this monolith in the face and ponder where do I start? I don’t have a map to follow and there is an overload of information out there. I decided to start with twitter as I personally have some questions I need clarified. Read more »

To be, or not to be (part of social media), that is the (big) question:

You see comments like ‘it is a fad’, ‘I don’t understand it’, ‘it is expensive’, ‘it is not measurable’ or ‘what is the ROI?’ So I decided to go on a journey to get to the bottom of social media and investigate whether it can be useful in business Read more »

By now you should have a better understanding of what is unique about you and what you want to achieve. I am now going to address how to define your target audience/market/job. This involves understanding who or what you want to reach and what they need or want. This usually involves doing some research. Research can be done on the net, phoning up a person and talking to them or reading press or trade journals. Read more »

An “Old Media” Guide to Blogging

I recently started a blog which has been surprisingly successful.  From the very first month, I had an enormous response.  It is still growing briskly and lots of very nice people write me to tell me how much they like my site.  It has been a fantastically rewarding adventure!
For me personally, the success has been […] Read more »
