What does this mean to you? We all can make a dif­fer­ence whether it is small or big. The ques­tion is ‘do you want to make a difference?’

I know that for me part of my hap­pi­ness for­mula is to be mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in what­ever I am doing. In my work I want to make a dif­fer­ence to the com­pany I am work­ing with/for, I want to make a dif­fer­ence to the peo­ple I work with and the same goes for my per­sonal life with my fam­ily, friends, col­leagues and peo­ple I come across and the world as a whole. The big issue is how do we make a difference?

I am not a celebrity with oodles of cash to change the world for bet­ter; I am an ordi­nary per­son with a desire to make the world a bet­ter place. I find watch­ing the poor, abused, the hurt and all the bad things hap­pen­ing to human­ity painful to look at. We get those sym­pa­thy adverts every­day and I don’t have the means to sup­port all of those, so how can I help?

I do what I can in every­thing I do every­day. I recy­cle, vote for peo­ple I think can make a dif­fer­ence, I help old peo­ple cross the road (metaphor), I give emo­tional sup­port to peo­ple I know that need it and help in every lit­tle way I can. Do I wish I had the means to make more of a dif­fer­ence – cer­tainly! I am work­ing towards that goal.

So what more can be done in our daily lives to be mak­ing a difference?
