Making a Difference
July 24, 2009 | Leave a Comment
What does this mean to you? We all can make a difference whether it is small or big. The question is ‘do you want to make a difference?’
I know that for me part of my happiness formula is to be making a difference in whatever I am doing. In my work I want to make a difference to the company I am working with/for, I want to make a difference to the people I work with and the same goes for my personal life with my family, friends, colleagues and people I come across and the world as a whole. The big issue is how do we make a difference?
I am not a celebrity with oodles of cash to change the world for better; I am an ordinary person with a desire to make the world a better place. I find watching the poor, abused, the hurt and all the bad things happening to humanity painful to look at. We get those sympathy adverts everyday and I don’t have the means to support all of those, so how can I help?
I do what I can in everything I do everyday. I recycle, vote for people I think can make a difference, I help old people cross the road (metaphor), I give emotional support to people I know that need it and help in every little way I can. Do I wish I had the means to make more of a difference – certainly! I am working towards that goal.
So what more can be done in our daily lives to be making a difference?
